How Town Events Work

Look, Town Events are hands-down one of the best QoL features Paralives has going for it right now. They're scheduled activities all over Melino that give your Parafolks free skill boosts, rare item drops, and actual reasons to leave the house. Everything gets announced in The New Paper (yeah, the in-game newspaper), which lands on your doorstep every single morning. Check it. I'm serious — I missed my first three events because I kept forgetting to read the damn thing.

Here's the kicker though — at Early Access launch, every single Town Event is 100% free. No entry fees, no tickets, no nothing. They all happen in public spaces around Melino too, so you don't even need to own any special lots. It's basically free loot and XP just for showing up.

Why You Should Care About Town Events

Completely free · Free skill & Knowledge boosts · Rare item drops · Easy socializing · Triggers Story Cards · Literally zero downside · Did I mention it's free?

All Town Events

Astronomy Club

Space nerds, assemble! The Astronomy Club meets up at Mountain Top park multiple times a week to stargaze through a shared telescope. You'll get a solid Science Knowledge boost just for hanging out, plus it's actually a pretty chill way to meet other intellectually-minded Parafolks. The club sends out announcements on event days, so you won't miss it if you're checking The New Paper like I told you to.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

Jogging Club

Wanna grind Fitness without it feeling like a grind? The Jogging Club runs up the Mountain Trail every week and they're cool with anyone joining — doesn't matter if your Parafolk is a total couch potato or already ripped. They've got free snacks and gear at the trailhead too, which is a nice touch. Honestly one of the best ways to level up Exercise Skill while actually enjoying the scenery.

Weekly (day varies)

Outdoor Cinema

Okay this one's just cozy. A giant outdoor screen pops up in Castle Plaza (right by the Town Hall and Library) for movie nights. The seating situation is... eclectic — mismatched chairs everywhere — but there's a popcorn machine that adds to the vibe. Fair warning though: that machine is broken about half the time, so don't count on it. Bring a blanket and enjoy a flick under the stars. It's not meta or anything, it's just nice.

Periodic / Seasonal

Treasure Hunt

Every Thursday, head to Old Town (around Castle Plaza) for the weekly treasure hunt. Red chests are hidden everywhere, and they're packed with Build Mode items and unique treasures. Important distinction: these red chests are NOT the same as the buried chests you dig up for collectibles — totally different system. The loot rotates every week too, so there's always a reason to come back.

Every Thursday

Weekend Market

Sunday Market is the real deal. It sets up in Castle Plaza every single Sunday, and the stalls rotate their stock weekly — decorative items, art pieces, weird oddities you won't find anywhere else. There's even a Premium Gym stall if you want to grab some food or work out while you're there. Pro tip: the Oddities Shop here has exclusive items you literally can't get any other way. Make Sunday market runs part of your routine — it's worth it.

Every Sunday

Yoga Class

Yoga Class is hands-down the best skill-grinding event in the game, and I'm not even exaggerating. Premium Gym hosts free sessions at three different locations — Community Center, Industrial District park, and Mountain Top. Up to 8 people can join at once, and the Fitness/Exercise Skill gains are noticeably faster than training on your own. Three times a week. For free. Yeah, you should be going.

Event Rewards & Benefits

The meta play: If you're building a fitness-focused Parafolk, Yoga Class is your best friend. Hit it on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays religiously. Then stack Jogging Club on whatever day you've got free. Your Fitness stat will climb faster than anything else in the game. I tested this over about 15 hours of gameplay — the difference is real.

Maximizing Town Events

  1. Read The New Paper. Every. Single. Morning. I cannot stress this enough. Miss the paper = miss the event. It's that simple.
  2. Plan your travel routes smart. Mountain Top park is a hike from downtown. Try to end your Parafolk's day near wherever the event is so you're not trekking across the map at 11 PM.
  3. Bring the whole household. Social events give better rewards when multiple family members show up together. Plus it's cute.
  4. Sunday Market is non-negotiable. New stock every week means new finds. I've gotten some of my favorite decor pieces from those stalls.
  5. Make Treasure Hunt your Thursday ritual. Red chests respawn weekly. Set a mental alarm — don't skip it.
  6. Double-dip skill building + socializing. Astronomy Club gives Science Knowledge AND social time. Yoga gives Fitness AND social time. Two birds, one stone. Efficiency gaming at its finest.
  7. Just... go to everything. Seriously. At launch, all events are free with zero downside. It's literally bonus content. Why would you skip it?
