Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the town of Melino?
Melino is designed to feel like a real small-to-medium sized town. Walking from one end to the other takes about 25-35 minutes in-game time. There are four distinct districts covering different environments: dense urban center (Old Town), industrial zone, mountain wilderness, and rural countryside. The total explorable area is significantly larger than similar games' towns, with no invisible walls blocking you from going anywhere your Parafolk can physically reach.
Can I visit every building in Melino?
Most public buildings are fully visitable: restaurants, cafés, library, museum, park, hospital, stores, etc. You can walk inside, interact with objects, meet NPCs, and use facilities. Some buildings (like residential NPC homes and certain office interiors) are currently not enterable — this may change in future updates. The general rule is: if it looks like a public/commercial space, you can probably go inside.
Where's the best place to live in Melino?
It depends on your priorities! Old Town is best for social players — everything is within walking distance, constant activity. Industrial is best for budget players — cheaper housing, short commute to jobs. Mountain is best for nature lovers/collectors — peace, beauty, gem mining nearby. Countryside is best for builders/families — maximum lot size, privacy, space to grow. Many players start in Industrial (cheap starter home) then move to their dream district later.
Are there cars in Paralives / Melino?
Currently, personal cars are NOT in the game. Transportation consists of walking, bus routes, taxi/rideshare, and bicycles. The developers have hinted that vehicles may come in a future update, but for now, Melino is a pedestrian-and-public-transit friendly town. Many players actually prefer this — no parking headaches, no traffic jams, just clean walkable streets everywhere.
What happens in Melino at night?
Melino transforms beautifully at night! Street lights create warm pools of light, café windows glow invitingly, and the atmosphere shifts from bustling energy to cozy intimacy. Night-specific activities include: Observatory stargazing sessions, live music at cafés (evenings only), bar/club scenes in the Industrial district (for adult Parafolks), increased chance of rare spawns (some collectibles only appear at night), and romantic date spots become extra special. Streets are quieter but never truly empty — night owl NPCs wander about, creating a lived-in feeling even after dark.
