Melino: Your Home Town
Melino is Paralives' open-world town — a seamless, loading-screen-free environment spanning 4 distinct districts. Every lot is accessible without transitions, making exploration feel natural and fluid. The town has approximately 50-70 playable lots across its districts, each with its own character and purpose.
Whether you're looking for the cheapest home, the best shopping, scenic jogging trails, or hidden collectibles, Melino has it all. Here's a complete breakdown of each district.
Open World Design
Melino uses a seamless open-world design. Walk from your front door in Old Town to the Mountain district without any loading screens. The entire town is explorable on foot, by bus (fast travel), or through hidden tunnel shortcuts.
District 1: Old Town
Old Town
Old Town is the heart of Melino — the charming, walkable core where most players start. Think European cobblestone streets, cozy cafes, and the iconic Castle Plaza at its center. This is where Town Events happen, where the museum is located, and where the most community lots cluster.
- Castle Plaza: The central gathering area. Outdoor Cinema events, Weekend Markets, and Treasure Hunts all converge here.
- Melino Museum: Donate collectibles (Artefacts, Gemstones, Mushrooms, Paintings) for exclusive rewards.
- Cafe District: Small shops and cafes for social gatherings and light food.
- Residential Area: Mid-priced homes, perfect for your first household.
- Treasure Hunt Location: Thursday treasure chests appear throughout Old Town's side streets and alleyways.
District 2: Industrial
Industrial District
The working-class heart of Melino. Brick buildings, warehouses, the local gym, and more affordable housing make this district popular for career-focused Parafolks. The Community Center hosts regular Yoga Classes, and the industrial aesthetic provides interesting building options.
- Premium Gym: The main fitness facility. Hosts Yoga Classes (Tue/Thu/Sun) and provides exercise equipment.
- Community Center: Regular Town Event location for Yoga Classes.
- Working-Class Housing: More affordable lots — great for first-time buyers or rags-to-riches saves.
- Shops & Services: Basic necessities stores and service lots.
- Employment Hub: Many workplaces are located in or near the Industrial district.
District 3: Mountain
Mountain District
The scenic, elevated district with sweeping views and premium real estate. Mountain homes are the most expensive in Melino but offer the most breathtaking surroundings. The Mountain Top park hosts the Astronomy Club and provides the best stargazing spots. The Jogging Club uses the Mountain Trail weekly.
- Mountain Top Park: Highest elevation point in Melino. Hosts Astronomy Club (Mon/Wed/Fri) and provides telescope access.
- Mountain Trail: The weekly Jogging Club route. Also great for free Exercise skill XP during solo runs.
- Luxury Homes: Premium lots with stunning views. Best for established households with high incomes.
- Hidden Tunnels: Train tunnels often connect Mountain areas to other districts as shortcuts.
- Scenic Views: The best photography spots in Melino — set up easels here for unique painting opportunities.
District 4: Countryside
Countryside
The rural, spacious district with large lots at affordable prices. The Countryside offers the most building space per Paradime, making it ideal for players who want sprawling homes, gardens (when gardening releases), or a peaceful farming lifestyle. Lower population density means fewer NPC interactions but more tranquility.
- Large Lots: The most affordable and spacious lots in Melino. Perfect for big builds.
- Rural Atmosphere: Quieter district with less foot traffic and more space between neighbors.
- Future Farming Potential: Largest lot sizes make it ideal for the upcoming gardening/farming system.
- Foraging Hotspots: Mushroom spawns and collectible locations are more spread out but plentiful.
- Distance from Center: Longest travel time to Old Town and event areas. Plan around bus routes.
Transportation: Bus Stops & Tunnels
Bus Stop Fast Travel
Bus stops are scattered throughout all four districts. Click any bus stop to open a full map and teleport your Parafolk to any other stop for just 3 Paradimes. Key bus stops include:
- Castle Plaza (Old Town center)
- Industrial District entrance
- Mountain Base Station
- Countryside entrance
- Near the Museum
Hidden Train Tunnels
Underground passages that let your Parafolk walk through terrain obstacles. These aren't marked — explore carefully to find them. They provide the fastest cross-district travel once discovered.
Transportation Strategy: When choosing a home, check how many bus stops are within walking distance. A home near multiple bus stops in any district makes getting around Melino much faster. Countryside homes especially benefit from being near bus routes since travel distances are longer.
Hidden Secrets in Melino
- Thursday Treasure Hunts: Red chests appear throughout Old Town. Explore every alley and courtyard on Thursday mornings to find them all.
